We are biologists, game wardens, educators, and more all in on a common mission: responsible, safe enjoyment of the Maine outdoors. We believe a healthy ecosystem makes life better for all the fish, wildlife, and people who call Maine home, as well as for the visitors who call it Vacationland. We work to protect and manage Maine's fish, wildlife, and habitats. We want to promote Maine's outdoor heritage, and safely connect people with nature through responsible recreation and science. We are all in for the Maine outdoors!

From great wildlife and fisheries information pages for research projects, at-home/ school learning activities, safety courses, skill building workshops, Project Wild teacher workshops, and more. Also check out our mefishwildlife YouTube channel and subscribe so you never miss a great learning opportunity. Also be sure to check out the Maine Wildlife Park at www.mainewildlifepark.com. We do some in-person outreach as well and can provide training for mentors and educators, or programs for your youth or adult group. Just reach out and we will see what we can do.

Maine Environmental Education Association
MEEA is a statewide network that enhances and amplifies the efforts of individuals and organizations building environmental awareness, appreciation, understanding, and action in Maine. We are deeply committed to centering our work in equity.
MEEA hosts an annual conference, the largest gathering of Environmental Education and Outdoor Learning professionals in Maine and other trainings for educators throughout the year and runs a small grants program to support outdoor learning in public schools. We also host the Maine Environmental Changemakers Network which is a statewide network connecting diverse youth passionate about the environment and social justice to each other, mentors, training and support to lead equity centered environmental action in their schools and communities. We offer equity training, advocate at the state and federal level for environmental education, share resources, job postings and events across the state and participate in research and evaluation for the field.
MEEA is the state affiliate of the North American Association for Environmental Education where we bring cutting edge resources from the national level back to Maine to advance the sector.
We offer interpretation at events-trainings, transportation support to attend events-training, and sliding scale fees for trainings.

Maine Local Living School is a working homestead and education center founded in 2008. Our programs emphasize building regenerative relationships with the earth and each other, learning practical skills for wise living, and cultivating capacities for observation, stillness and gratitude. Participants of all ages carve, weave, wild-gather, cultivate, compost, harvest, sew, plant, thresh, winnow and construct a life that honors the limits and abundances of our places. Maine State Museum
The Maine State Museum offers stories of human interactions with the natural environment over the past 12,000 years. The museumÂ’s educators strive to help visitors of all ages connect their unique experiences to MaineÂ’s rich natural and cultural heritage as embodied by the museumÂ’s collections and exhibits. Drawing from a variety of communication tools and learning strategies the museum educators develop and deliver dynamic programs, foster in-depth dialogues, and promote a spirit of inquiry and critical thinking.
Currently, the museum is offering a variety of free, live, online programming via Zoom while the Museum remains closed for extensive renovations and with hopes of reopening in late 2025/early 2026

Maine Teen Camp
Maine Teen Camp (MTC), located in beautiful south western Maine, is a co-ed residential camp for teenagers (13 - 17). MTC aims to provide each camper with a diverse camp experience in a safe and supportive natural setting that promotes a sense of community, friendship, personal growth and leadership. Our elective program offers about 35 different activities, with strengths in music, tennis, waterskiing, and cooking, alongside tons of creative and performing arts, land and water sports, community service and more.
