We are biologists, game wardens, educators, and more all in on a common mission: responsible, safe enjoyment of the Maine outdoors. We believe a healthy ecosystem makes life better for all the fish, wildlife, and people who call Maine home, as well as for the visitors who call it Vacationland. We work to protect and manage Maine's fish, wildlife, and habitats. We want to promote Maine's outdoor heritage, and safely connect people with nature through responsible recreation and science. We are all in for the Maine outdoors!

MEEA is a statewide network that enhances and amplifies the efforts of individuals and organizations building environmental awareness, appreciation, understanding, and action in Maine. We are deeply committed to centering our work in equity.

MEEA hosts an annual conference, the largest gathering of Environmental Education and Outdoor Learning professionals in Maine and other trainings for educators throughout the year and runs a small grants program to support outdoor learning in public schools. We also host the Maine Environmental Changemakers Network which is a statewide network connecting diverse youth passionate about the environment and social justice to each other, mentors, training and support to lead equity centered environmental action in their schools and communities. We offer equity training, advocate at the state and federal level for environmental education, share resources, job postings and events across the state and participate in research and evaluation for the field.

MEEA is the state affiliate of the North American Association for Environmental Education where we bring cutting edge resources from the national level back to Maine to advance the sector.

We offer interpretation at events-trainings, transportation support to attend events-training, and sliding scale fees for trainings.

The mission of the Maine Forest and Logging Museum is to preserve, celebrate and educate people about Maine’s rich Forests or Forestry and logging history.

The mission of the Maine Island Trail Association is to advance a model of thoughtful use and volunteer stewardship of Maine's wild islands, creating an inspiring recreational water trail that is cared for by the people who use it.

Maine Local Living School is a working homestead and education center founded in 2008. Our programs emphasize building regenerative relationships with the earth and each other, learning practical skills for wise living, and cultivating capacities for observation, stillness and gratitude. Participants of all ages carve, weave, wild-gather, cultivate, compost, harvest, sew, plant, thresh, winnow and construct a life that honors the limits and abundances of our places. Local living is a process of coming to know the earth as home. For us, coming home has meant coming alive. We welcome you to join!

A museum showcasing Maine minerals and mining history and also meteorites from our solar system (displaying significant collections of lunar and martian meteorites). The Maine Mineral & Gem Museum provides auditory and mobility accommodations.

The Maine Organic Farmers and Gardeners Association (MOFGA), formed in 1971, is the oldest and largest state organic organization in the country. MOFGA is a broad-based community that educates about and advocates for organic agriculture, illuminating its interdependence with a healthy environment, local food production, and thriving communities.

We offer outdoor adventure programs for kids grades K-8. After-school programs, summer camps, mountain bike clinics & a variety of workshops. All of our programming is 100% outside, place-based utilizing public parks, trail systems & green spaces in the Greater-Portland area. We are focused on enrichment through outdoor education, movement as expression and healthy social-emotional development through unstructured play.

We provide custom, standards-aligned programming in schools, professional development opportunities, and guided outdoor experiences for visitors and locals alike. Collaboration is core to our business model: we help organizations, such as land trusts, meet their outdoor education goals and make outdoor learning more accessible. We customize our programs to meet the needs/interests of any group.

Increase Nature Literacy toward healthier outcomes. Maine Primitive Skills School. offers adaptive instruction to match learning strengths and challenge areas.

The Maine Primitive Skills School overseas a 50 Acre campus adjacent to the Alonzo H. Garcelon Wildlife Management Area. The Entrance to the School is located at 716 Church Hill Rd. in Augusta, Maine.

Mission Statement of the Maine Primitive Skills School:

The Mission of The Maine Primitive Skills School is to provide professional outdoor instruction to novices and professionals alike.

The mission of the Maine School Garden Network is to promote and support educational gardens for youth and to encourage school programs which teach healthy eating and environmental stewardship. Our vision is that all school gardens in Maine are connected to the resources and support they need to thrive.

A long serving professional membership organization for both formal and informal teachers of science in Maine from Pre K to Post Secondary work. We are "dedicated to building a community that connects, informs, celebrates and advocates for science education."

The Maine State Museum offers stories of human interactions with the natural environment over the past 12,000 years. The museum’s educators strive to help visitors of all ages connect their unique experiences to Maine’s rich natural and cultural heritage as embodied by the museum’s collections and exhibits. Drawing from a variety of communication tools and learning strategies the museum educators develop and deliver dynamic programs, foster in-depth dialogues, and promote a spirit of inquiry and critical thinking.

Currently, the museum is offering a variety of free, live, online programming via Zoom while the Museum remains closed for extensive renovations and with hopes of reopening in late 2025/early 2026

Maine Teen Camp (MTC), located in beautiful south western Maine, is a co-ed residential camp for teenagers (13 - 17). MTC aims to provide each camper with a diverse camp experience in a safe and supportive natural setting that promotes a sense of community, friendship, personal growth and leadership. Our elective program offers about 35 different activities, with strengths in music, tennis, waterskiing, and cooking, alongside tons of creative and performing arts, land and water sports, community service and more.
