Rock Springs Ranch is the state 4-H camp & conference center, owned and operated by the Kansas 4-H Foundation. The Kansas 4-H Foundation is the 501(c)(3) fundraising arm for Kansas 4-H, the state’s largest positive youth development program. The Foundation works with businesses, organizations, individuals and families who share a common desire to support a statewide effort of growing future leaders. Rock Springs Ranch is a 735-acre property located in the heart of the flint hills and is accredited by the American Camp Association.

The Zoo is a 40-acre living laboratory where students can explore concepts introduced in the classroom. Their programs encourage students to observe, ask questions, make inferences and discoveries, and communicate.

Roger Williams Park Zoo FrogWatch USA
A strong presence of frogs and toads is indicative a healthy habitat, hence being called “indicator species.” FrogWatch is a community science program that provides volunteers the opportunity to learn about wetlands in their community by submitting scientific data on the calls of local frogs and toads they hear. The program provides scientists with evidence of species distribution as well as identifying impacts of habitat loss and climate change which can then be used to make informed decisions around land use, development, and other important environmental considerations.
