AGES is a collaboration between the Departments of Anthropology, Earth Sciences, and Geography, GIS, and Sustainability at UNC. Our faculty and students work together to provide hands on learning in our courses, research and outreach opportunities, and student support and development opportunities.

Infusing a Love for Science, Technology, Engineering and Math. We strive to enhance STEM through engaging, hands-on, standards-based activities with an emphasis on outdoor environmental education.

We promote investigation and conservation of the natural history hemisphere, encourage interest in early naturalists, and inspire curiosity about the worlds they studied and inhabited.

Public education about the natural world.

To provide students around the world environmental education and opportunities to participate in authentic citizen science.

Engage members of the public in ocean sciences, promoting careers and community involvement through formal and informal education programs to give people a better understanding of the Gulf.

Educate youth and adults about agriculture, forestry, and other natural resources.
