Cultivating Community grows sustainable communities by expanding access to healthy, local food; empowering children, youth, and adults to play diverse roles in restoring the local, sustainable food systems; and modeling, teaching, and advocating for ecological food production. Cultivating Community works with deaf and ELL students in the schools.

Education has been at the heart of the District’s mission for more than 75 years. Our youth education program focuses on connecting individuals with their local environment. Our STEM-based lessons are developed in consideration of the Next Generation Science Standards and led by student investigations. As a non-profit science center and zoo, CuriOdyssey inspires the next generation of critical thinkers with a love for science and lifelong curiosity about their world. Our exhibits and programs engage students in experiences and interactions with phenomena that encourages questions, uses all of their senses, and fosters critical thinking. We offer NGSS aligned K-12 education programs that provide student driven learning opportunities.
