About Maine Timber Research and Environmental Education Foundation (Maine TREE)
Maine TREE is a nonprofit organization whose mission is to educate and advocate for the sustainable use of the forest and the ecological, economic, and social health of Maines forest community. Maine TREEs education objectives center around forest-based education, and include professional development workshops for educators, community science projects, and public-facing events in support of landowners and forest professionals. This organization also houses Project Learning Tree (PLT), a nationwide standards-based curriculum that uses trees and forests as a learning tool for K-12 students.
