Bastrop has been designated a Bird City Texas by Texas Parks and Wildlife and Audubon Texas, meaning it has a great diversity of birds and is a bird friendly city. We are proud of this title and hope to share the love of birds with as many people as possible. In partnership with the Texas Master Naturalists, we offer a free monthly birding hike at the Colorado River Refuge. This hike is led by birding experts and is suitable for all levels of birders and families.
