Ecological Restoration Service-Learning Field Trips

San Bruno Mountain is a refuge for dozens of rare and endangered plants and animals. San Bruno Mountain Watch provides service-learning opportunities where students can engage in the processes of ecological restoration on San Bruno Mountain, including revegetation with native plants and removal of invasive weeds. Students learn about the ecosystems they are helping to restore and the habitats of the species that live within them. Students can also tour our Mission Blue Nursery and participate in the propagation and maintenance of the native plants of San Bruno Mountain, thereby helping produce plants for habitat restoration projects on the mountain. Nursery activities are better suited for smaller groups, while events on the mountain can accommodate larger groups.
