This virtual or online field trip reveals how the City protects our groundwater resources for the future by recycling the water that goes down the drain at home. Students have an opportunity to engage with City’s wastewater facility and interview Operators & Laboratory Technicians. See how eco-engineering solutions are happening right here in Watsonville utilities. In person field trips include a laboratory experience with pH and microorganisms. Sponsored by Pajaro Valley Water and City of Watsonville Public Works & Utilities. Our Water Works in Santa Cruz County: A Discovery Book About Our Fresh Water Resources is available free to fifth and sixth graders and can be found online here: https://watersavingtips.org/resources/teacher-resources/ Copies are also available in Spanish.
