About Mano en Mano
Mano en Manos mission is to work with and support farmworkers and immigrants to thrive in Maine. We envision a stronger, more inclusive Maine where the contributions of diverse communities are welcomed, access to essential services, education and housing are ensured, and social justice and equity are embraced. Mano en Mano works in various program areas including: Access to Essential Services, Advocacy, Education, Childcare and Housing. Key accomplishments over the past several years include: opening Rayitos de Sol Bilingual Childcare- the first and only of its kind in the Downeast area, offering bilingual curriculum and accessible pricing; playing a leadership role in statewide services and advocacy for migrant children/youth through the Migrant Education Program; and the continued development of a group of leaders called Nuestra Voz en la Comunidad (Our Voice in the Community).
