The Diana Project

The Diana Project in Arkansas is a grassroots conservation and education initiative dedicated to safeguarding the Diana fritillary—which is Arkansas’s state butterfly and currently listed as threatened. Its mission is to protect the species through conservation education, citizen science, habitat restoration, and community engagement. They foster awareness by offering presentations, workshops, and iNaturalist training; mobilize volunteers to collect sightings data; and install and promote native-plant "Diana Patch" gardens to restore and connect fragmented butterfly habitats
