EVA is a multi-week program for Ventura County high school sophomores, juniors, and seniors that provides targeted environmental advocacy skills that budding activists can leverage within their communities and across their careers.
Learn everything you need to know to become a fierce, effective climate justice activist. Youll get expert instruction from CFROGs science advisors and CSUCI environmental science faculty. After weekly Zoom sessions and two Saturdays on CSUCIs campus, youll be able to articulate a climate-action theory of change, use powerful storytelling techniques to communicate climate action and environmental justice messages, and develop concrete, personal advocacy goals that align with your individual interests.
Youll work identify community leadership roles you could pursue, create a roadmap of change in your own community, and develop a plan (either on your own or in a small group) to influence climate policy at the local level.
Graduates of EVA will be poised to pursue careers in political science, climate policy, and environmental science. And through participation in the program, youll become part of a life-long network of environmental advocates and scientists who will have your back as you pursue your own career goals.
