For our outreach assembly programs, we incorporate slides that demonstrate which NGSS standards are being discussed so teachers can utilize the lessons in the presentation to reinforce their classroom teaching. We also include images of the animals to give the students an up-close view of the animals that may not be possible from a distance. In the virtual programs, we begin with the slides as well but we utilize multiple cameras to provide those close-up views live during the program. We have also created grade-specific project based NGSS classroom units. Each begins with a live videoconference and provide the classroom teachers with online lesson plans, supplemental materials, evaluation criteria and support from our team as they progress through the unit at a pace that works for them.
