by School in the Woods

School in the Woods is a year-long 4th grade program that is part of Academy School District 20. Naturalists at SITW learn all of the Colorado 4th grade standards through an environmental science lens. They become expert field scientists through hands-on investigation and outdoor learning focused on the plants and animals of Black Forest, Colorado.

Naturalists experience field projects, nature hikes and solo spots. At School in the Woods, learning takes place through exploration.
