Kids About Water (KAW) Water Quality Education Program

Friends of the Kaw (FOK) has long known that education is critical to protecting and preserving the Kansas River. In 2015, we developed our Kids About Water (KAW) Program, a six-lesson water quality issues and actions curriculum targeting students in grades 6-12. The program address the following: structure/function of watersheds, impact of stormwater runoff, environmental pollutants, human impacts on water quality, and Best Management Practices for improving water quality. Each lesson is aligned with the Kansas Next Generation Science Standards.
