Discover Bugs

Dip in and discover the wonderful world of waterbugs living in the Arboretum’s Spring Peeper Meadow wetland where the waters are teeming with waterbugs. These waterbugs, called macroinvertebrates, are an important part of our aquatic ecosystem. The meadow is home to one of the most diverse macroinvertebrate communities in Carver County. Capture and identify macroinvertebrates. Practice using a key to identify your findings. Learn about adaptations to living in the water. Explore and have fun!
