James River Leadership Expedition

The James River Leadership Expedition (JRLE) is a year-long, holistic program designed for rising 9-12th graders in the James River watershed. Students spend 5 days on an adventure down the James River in small groups with experienced river guides, learning leadership and outdoor skills in the summer. The group meets throughout the year to design individual capstone projects to improve the James watershed and lead volunteer groups, with a final presentation in May.
