Ecosystem Investigators

This middle-school program introduces students to concepts relevant to the health and functioning of forest and stream ecosystems, including their interactions through the watershed concept. Programming consists of two field sessions (forest and stream), each preceded by an in-class orientation session. In small groups, students explore forest and stream ecosystems, learn about food webs, interspecies interactions, and the use of benthic macroinvertebrates in assessing stream health.
