Project Overview

The Arkansas Environmental Education Landscape Analysis Project aims to establish a statewide collection of environmental and outdoor education resources. An interactive GIS map and a user-friendly dashboard will facilitate program location, data compilation, and identification of program gaps. Our goal is that every Arkansan has access to high-quality, engaging, and meaningful environmental and outdoor education experiences. This project will be an update and enhancement of our current Arkansas EE Directory.

Project Expected Outcomes

1. Searchable Resources: Establishes a comprehensive directory of environmental education resources. Enables users to locate resources based on their geographic location and specific requirements. Fosters collaboration by connecting educators with regional and statewide partners and resources.

2. Interactive GIS Map: Facilitates the mapping of environmental education service providers. Enable data visualization of resource distribution across Arkansas. Provides a dynamic tool for exploring local and statewide offerings.

Project Next Steps

By highlighting current programs and identifying gaps in existing resources, we strive to enhance the impact of environmental education across the state. The resources available to educators, students, and decision makers will provide:

  • A greater understanding of the environmental education providers and programs across our state
  • Opportunities for collaboration across organizations and within communities
  • Data to guide initiatives and resource allocation

The data gathered from this project will provide valuable insights into environmental education in Arkansas.
