Bay to Dunes

The Bay to Dunes field trip program brings local youth to our unique coastal dune habitat and marsh habitats on the Samoa Peninsula in Arcata, CA. Students learn about and explore an array of habitats that are within the peninsula ecosystem. At the bay there is both a saltwater marsh and freshwater marsh Students explore dune microhabitats (dune forest, open dunes, foredune, and beach) and the biodiversity within them by exploring, practicing animal tracking, and plant identification.
