This program takes place primarily on Galveston beaches and focuses on students getting involved with citizen science outside of the classroom. The program consists of educational talks, picking up trash, and microplastic sampling. We record the items picked up, the amount of trash collected and the number of cigarette butts collected. We end with a discussion of how to reduce the impact of plastic pollution on the environment..
