Schools choose Mercer Botanic Gardens for a class field trip, which includes a self-guided garden exploration, a picnic lunch in a covered pavilion in the arboretum, hiking the wooded trails, and playing on the playground. Mercer provides teacher resources for the self-guided exploration, such as various scavenger hunts geared for different age levels, math resources including number patterns and geometry in the garden, butterfly and host plant checklists, and more.
