Exchange of Energy and Matter in Nature

During three visits to an outdoor environment (at school, a local park, or on location at ParGil Natural Resources Learning Center) throughout the school year, students learn about critical natural resources: flow of energy, flow of matter, the water cycle, soil, wetlands, air and more. Emphasis includes carbon exchange, trophic levels and respecting resources. Season-specific topics address soil components, the value of wetlands, and wildlife strategies for acquiring or conserving energy for winter survival.
