Field trip to Eocene Fossil Site

Bring students to dig for fossils in a 50 million-year-old Eocene lakebed. Students will be given an orientation before going up on the site, then after they've found their own fossils, the staff will identify their finds. Each student will take home up to three fossils. Throughout the field trip students will learn about the paleoclimate of the Eocene, fossil formation, and other aspects of geology. Retained fossils could be published in scientific literature, with the student receiving credit.
