Girls on the Prairie: An intensive one-week Summer Camp for girls of minority backgrounds. The camp addresses a lack of knowledge and awareness of the ecology and ecological services provided by native coastal prairies and wetlands—an endangered ecosystem. This is achieved with prairie tours, insect sweeps and identification with guides, birding with binoculars, coastal prairie history and ecosystem services, and a 15-foot prairie grass banner. Camp also includes Career Day featuring women of science discussing their career path.
