Green Up Our Schools was incubated within the Barrett Foundation until 2010 when it secured its 501 c 3 tax-exempt business status. In the 13 years since, 132 Green Team scholars have guided 133,245 peer/students in 132 schools to execute waste diversion projects that diverted 15,245 TONS of waste from the landfill. These Green'd Up Schools also inspired these youth to think differently about waste and their environment, cultivate waste reduction practices in their homes, communities and opened their eyes
