Habitat Explorers

In the Habitat Explorers program first grade students make 3 visits to Pittsburgh's Frick Park and explore 3 distinct habitats: meadow, forest, and stream. Students are introduced to the habitat concept and use basic exploration and observation techniques to meet the plants and animals in each habitat. Sessions conclude with a brief, age-appropriate stewardship project.
