LiMPETS (long-term monitoring program and experiential training for students) is a community/citizen science program that monitors the coastal ecosystems of California and helps teachers, students and community groups to understand, value, and participate in science. LiMPETS brings over 6,000 students to study Californias coastline annually. LiMPETS maintains 30 rocky intertidal monitoring sites from Sonoma to San Diego. 11 sites fall within 8 different state MPAs.
