? The Microclimates on a Macroscale Program includes classroom lessons on climate vs weather, explains microclimates, San Diego climates, and climate change. It also addresses microclimates within the San Dieguito watershed, their importance, and how climate change is threatening the entire trophic system. After the classroom activities, students join SDRVC and the Climate Science Alliance on hikes within the San Dieguito watershed, recording their surroundings and thoughts. Back in the classroom, students share findings, feelings, and opinions about the excursion and develop an online social media campaign or similar to educate citizens about the threat and effects of climate change.
