Project Owlnet

Each fall, the Indiana Audubon Society invites the public to our "Saw-Whets & S'mores" events at the Indiana Dunes Visitor Center and Mary Gray Bird Sanctuary. From mid-October to mid-November, these gatherings offer a unique opportunity to engage with our Northern Saw-whet Owl research under Indiana's Project Owlnet. Led by ornithologists, visitors witness the captivating process of banding these majestic birds, fostering a deeper appreciation for Indiana's smallest owl and the vital conservation efforts dedicated to its preservation.
