This program follows the national model for getting children and families to use walking and biking as a way to get to school: education, encouragement, engineering, equity, and evaluation. Trailnet has provided Safe Routes to School services and training to schools since 2007, working with over 40 schools in various capacities with the overall goal of increasing the number of children walking and biking to school. The primary tools employed to reach this goal have been Family Walk to School Days, Walking School Bus programs and Bike Safety Rodeos.
