Virginia Save Our Streams

Virginia Save Our Streams is a community science program in which certified volunteers monitor water quality by collecting benthic macroinvertebrates from streams and calculating a stream health score, which is sent to the Virginia Department of Environmental Quality. The certification process involves watching a few online webinars, taking an online quiz, and one field day with a local trainer.
