Watershed Protectors (Pilot Program)

The new pilot program, Watershed Protectors, is in development. Parks
Foundation staff has contacted Napa Junction Magnet Elementary School 5th-grade teachers to help
develop this program for late fall 2025. Watershed Protectors will engage students in hands-on
learning experiences that promote environmental stewardship by actively participating in restoring
tidal wetland habitats through invasive plant removal and the planting of native species. This new
program supports 5th-grade learning by incorporating California Ecosystem and Earth’s System science
standards.
