Wildwood's mission is to enrich lives through nature. Since our beginning in response to the tragic Columbine school shooting, Wildwoods has always used ecology and the outdoor experience as a framework for human relations.

To foster voluntary, incentive-driven management of soil, water, and related natural resources for the benefit of the environment, economy, and all citizens.

Our vision: To be the sustainability hub that connects the San Antonio community through education, research and empowerment for change towards a more resilient and equitable future. Our mission is to: Educate and inspire: students, faculty and larger community by hosting workshops and providing service learning and research opportunities. Research and demonstrate: how every member of our community can participate in building a more resilient future. Empower and connect: through educational spaces such as the Eco urban gardens, Garcia Street Farm, connect stakeholders through fostering beneficial partnerships.

Environmental literacy will increase the capacity of the school community through Meaningful outdoor experiences, Program development, Curriculum development, Professional development, Green school support, and Partnership opportunities

The Norbert Rich School Forest is a 43 ½ acre tree farm/forest willed to the Winneconne Community School District by Mr. Rich who passed away in 2012. He created a stewardship forestry plan and was very much involved with natural resource conservation making a sanctuary on his property for many wildlife species. Surrounded by farmland, it is the primary shelter for a large deer and turkey population along with various other wildlife species.
