GEMS-Net
The Guiding Education in Math and Science Network (GEMS-Net) is a research-practice partnership among the University of Rhode IslandÂ’s School of Education, scientists, and engineers, and schools and districts throughout the state. GEMS-Net supports STEM teaching and learning for pre-kindergarten through 8th grade. Schools receive ongoing curriculum-based professional learning for all teachers, curricula recommendations that align with the standards, and leadership development for teachers and principals. Additionally, the staff utilizes highly innovative strategies to prepare pre-service elementary and middle school teachers to be exemplary practitioners of STEM education.

The Georges River Land Trust's mission is to conserve the ecosystems and traditional heritage of the Georges River watershed region through permanent land protection, stewardship, education, and outdoor experiences. We offer 70+ miles of trails and 13 nature preserves with public access. We have also created a number of accessible trails throughout the St. George River Watershed which are well suited for groups. It is our hope that environmental educators and community groups can use our trails to connect with the local environment and foster an appreciation of conservation.
