Batiquitos Lagoon Foundation
We are a "friends" organization that partners with the State Fish and Wildlife Department to manage the Batiquitos Lagoon Ecological Reserve. The lagoon is a 600 acre saltwater estuary which is the focus of our environmental education programs. Our primary service to the community is guided nature walks on our trail. We serve local public schools, private schools, home school groups, boy/girl scouts, and any other interested organizations. In addition, we provide periodic public lecture programs on environmental topics, and we organize work parties to carry out trail maintenance and habitat restoration work. We are an all-volunteer organization, and we are constantly striving to expand our educational offerings.
