The mission of the Resource Conservation District of the Santa Monica Mountains is to improve stewardship of natural resources by encouraging practices that conserve our local resources for the use and enjoyment of present and future generations.

RethinkWaste is a joint powers authority of eleven public agencies in San Mateo County, California and is a leader in the delivery of innovative waste reduction and recycling programs. The RethinkWaste In-Schools Program supports school waste reduction and diversion initiatives by providing campuses with equipment and infrastructure, technical assistance, and student education at no-cost to the schools. Tours of the Shoreway Environmental Center in San Carlos offer students and the community an opportunity to learn firsthand what happens to their recyclables, yard trimmings, food scraps and garbage at a working Materials Recovery Facility (MRF) and Transfer Station.

The Richland County Park District is dedicated to introducing and interpreting our region's natural history to the citizens of Richland County through free education and public programming. We do this by providing recreational and educational opportunities through the protection and preservation of Richland County's natural resources to enhance the quality of life for present and future generations.
