Prince William Sound Regional Citizens’ Advisory Council
Citizens promoting the environmentally safe operation of the Alyeska terminal and associated tankers. The Prince William Sound Regional Citizens’ Advisory Council was formed after the 1989 Exxon Valdez oil spill to provide a voice for citizens affected by decisions related to the Alyeska Pipeline Service Company’s Valdez Marine Terminal and associated oil tankers. Our member organizations are communities in the region affected by the 1989 spill, as well as commercial fishing, aquaculture, Alaska Native, recreation, tourism, and environmental groups.

The Prince William Sound Science Center envisions communities that maintain socioeconomic resilience among healthy ecosystems.There are two outcomes inherent in our vision. The first is socio-economically resilient communities: This outcome requires the region to support the livelihoods of its citizens. The second outcome is healthy ecosystems: This outcome requires users of the region’s ecosystems to steward renewable resources with consideration for natural cycles and systemic change. Our mission is to advance community resilience and the understanding and sustainable use of ecosystems. We are unbiased in our approach, and we approach all projects with the attitude that they can lead to positive impacts, sustainable use of resources, and a resilient region.

Project DrawdownÂ’s Climate Solutions 101
Climate Solutions 101 is the worldÂ’s first major educational effort focused solely on solutions. Rather than rehashing well-known climate challenges, Project Drawdown centers game-changing climate action based on its own rigorous scientific research and analysis. This course, presented in video units and in-depth conversations, combines Project DrawdownÂ’s trusted resources with the expertise of several inspiring voices from around the world. Climate solutions become attainable with increased access to free, science-based educational resources, elevated public discourse, and tangible examples of real-world action.
