School forests are places where education happens...outdoors. Public and private schools can designate a nearby forest or part of their schoolground as their outdoor classroom. The goal of the program is to get more classes learning outdoors, more often. The program connects teachers with a variety of outdoor lessons that meet standards in math, reading, science, social studies, art, and P.E. The program also connects schools with local DNR foresters who advise on how to manage the land.
