The mission of MBARI is to achieve and maintain a position as a world center for advanced research and education in ocean science and technology, and to do so through the development of better instruments, systems, and methods for scientific research in the deep waters of the ocean. The Monterey Bay National Marine Sanctuary is managed by NOAA's Office of National Marine Sanctuaries with a variety of educational programs and opportunities in the field and at two visitors centers, of which the Exploration Center is one. The Exploration Center's mission is to connect visitors to the Monterey Bay National Marine Sanctuary. Under that larger mission, our driving goals behind our educational programs are:
Educating visitors about the sanctuary's unique and fascinating coastal and marine environment
Fostering a more personal connection with the sanctuary and the ocean's relevance in people's daily lives
Inspiring stewardship of the sanctuary and a responsible recreation in the ocean

The mission of the Monterey Bay Salmon & Trout Project (MBSTP) is to preserve and recover genetically native populations of Salmon and Steelhead in streams and rivers with outlets in the Monterey Bay. MBSTP was created in 1976 to respond to the decimation of the local Coho salmon population, and to the declining local Steelhead populations.

Our mission is to acquire and maintain open space in the District for preservation and use, working with partners and the community, for public benefit, enjoyment and environmental protection. Our vision is to have several large well managed parks distributed regionally across the District, representing a variety of habitats, concurrently protecting our environment and enhancing our community’s health, recreational and environmental education opportunities. We value safe, accessible open space for recreation enjoyment and protection of natural resources, and native habitat and wildlife.

The Montgomery Soil & Water Conservation District (SWCD) connects the residents, businesses, governments and agriculture of Montgomery County, Ohio, with education, best management practices, and technical leadership on water quality, water management, conservation, and wildlife habitat.
We are the community’s natural resource stewards for a livable community today and tomorrow. The Montgomery Soil & Water Conservation District (SWCD) is a political subdivision of the State of Ohio. We are located at 10025 Amity Road, Brookville, Ohio 45309.
SWCDs are locally led entities that provide nonregulatory conservation direction. SWCDs have a responsibility to conserve soil, water and related resources by working with landowners at a local level to decrease soil erosion and improve water quality.
