Native grasses have deep, extensive root systems that make them more tolerant to adverse conditions. Together, they function in harmony with other native plants, sharing resources, and make up diverse, attractive, and resilient biomes. Likewise, individuals and families without deep roots in their community struggle to access the rich nourishment they require when they need it the most. But when rooted deeply in solidarity beside their neighbors, they reflect the beauty and culture of where they live, improve the environment around them, and flourish–with little intervention.

Trailkeepers of Oregon (TKO) is a non-profit organization whose mission is to protect and enhance the Oregon hiking experience through stewardship, advocacy, outreach and education.

Promote the enjoyment, understanding, and conservation of native birds and their habitats through land conservation, habitat restoration/management, environmental education, and conservation advocacy.

We use sailing and learning how to sail as a platform to build an inclusive community committed to environmental stewardship and creating the leaders of tomorrow. We use our sailing programs to teach science and to build confidence, personal resiliency, and other important personal traits.
