Oklahoma State Parks
Oklahoma State Parks’ mission is to advance the exceptional quality of life in Oklahoma by preserving, maintaining and promoting our natural assets and cultural amenities. Since it was established in the 1930s, the parks system has provided important benefits, most of which were first enumerated by those who founded it: to provide opportunities for outdoor recreation and personal rejuvenation; to promote public health and wellness; to enhance our quality of life; to be gathering places for families and friends; to connect people with nature; to foster awareness and understanding of natural, historic and cultural resources; to serve as an important component of local and state economies.
