Teens for Food Justice
Teens for Food Justice (TFFJ) is building a food-secure future through school-based, youth-led hydroponic farming, providing local, sustainably-grown produce to food desert communities and building health, education, and opportunity equity for all New Yorkers and beyond.
TFFJ works within Title I middle and high schools in NYC and beyond, training students to build and manage indoor hydroponic farms, each growing up to 10,000 pounds of fresh produce annually. This fresh produce is served daily in school cafeterias and is distributed biweekly to campus families and through community partners, to local food-insecure residents. Further, students learn/master nutrition/health skills to share with peers/neighbors, empowering them to lead themselves and others toward healthier futures, making fresh healthy food available where it is most lacking, particularly in under-resourced communities of color.

Teens to Trails
Teens to Trails connects middle and highschool students with life changing outdoor experiences.
We do this in three ways:
1. Outdoor Clubs. Helping Maine middle and start a co-curricular, student led outdoor club, this is our specialty and over 60 schools offer this.
2. Life Happens Outside Challenge. Our annual week-long competition for Maine middle schools. How many minutes can you spend outside? Every activity counts! Community involvement. Cash prizes to winning schools.
3. Outdoor Explorers Program. A 6-week free play program for middle schoolers hosted by Recreation Departments with teen leadership. Ignite imagination and exploration outside.
