The Norbert Rich School Forest is a 43 ½ acre tree farm/forest willed to the Winneconne Community School District by Mr. Rich who passed away in 2012. He created a stewardship forestry plan and was very much involved with natural resource conservation making a sanctuary on his property for many wildlife species. Surrounded by farmland, it is the primary shelter for a large deer and turkey population along with various other wildlife species.

The purpose of the Winneshiek County Conservation Board is to provide the public with wide-ranging opportunities for quality outdoor recreation while wisely managing our natural resources and encouraging land stewardship through natural history and environmental education programming.

The Winona Outdoor Collaborative seeks to promote inclusion and accessibility through community partnerships, environmental stewardship, and educational programming directed at reducing barriers to outdoor recreation.

We provides a place for local residents to learn about sustainable living and eating local. We provide free food grown in the garden to food banks and organizations supporting low income residents.

WinterKids is the non profit organization dedicated to helping children develop healthy lifelong habits through education and fun, outdoor winter activity. We offer programs and resources for teachers, families and communities designed to get kids moving and learning, while fostering a love for Maine's best season!
