The Elkhorn Slough Reserve, a 1700-acre California Dept. of Fish and Wildlife Ecological Reserve and NOAA National Estuarine Research Reserve, fosters education, research, habitat stewardship, and restoration. Offering 5 miles of trails, a Visitor Center, and outdoor classrooms, the Reserve provides K-College field trips, teacher workshops, and public programs that support Next Generation Science Standards. With virtual visits, hands-on activities, and stewardship opportunities, the Reserve serves Central Coast communities and visitors worldwide, promoting environmental learning and connection to natural resources.
