For more than 28 years, the Center for Ecoliteracy has built partnerships and the capacity of K12 schools to support healthy, sustainable school communities. Through our work in rural, suburban, and urban K12 schools, we advance the teaching and modeling of sustainable practices. Our established California Food for California Kids® Network has more than 100 participating public school districtsabout one-third of the schools in Californiawho share a commitment to provide all students with fresh, locally-grown school meals and create lasting connections between the cafeteria, classroom, and garden. We provide free educational resources to support K-12 education on sustainable food systems and environmental literacy.
