Located 30 miles south of San Francisco, Filoli is nestled on a slope of the Santa Cruz Mountains and surrounded by more than 23,000 acres of the protected Peninsula watershed. To the two families who lived here, Filoli represented a desire to create a magnificent and enduring country estate. Today, Filoli’s mission is to connect our rich history with a vibrant future through beauty, nature, and shared stories. Filoli''s youth programs were discontinued in March 2020 due to Covid-19 restrictions. Filoli is now offering households staff-led experiences in the 16-acre formal Garden and the vast Nature Preserve. Take this unique opportunity to explore art and nature in a safe space or supplement school curriculum with a private family field trip. Experiences can be geared for children in elementary to middle school. Topics include Nature Hikes, Plein Air Art, and Patterns in the Garden.
