The LaGrange County Soil and Water Conservation District exists to provide leadership and assistance in the proper use and management of soil, water and related natural resources in LaGrange County, Indiana. We are a local unit of government responsible for soil and water within county boundaries. We work together for natural resource conservation and development. We evaluate local soil and water needs and set priorities. We also provide local leadership for soil and water resource concerns.

Protecting the water quality of Lake Auburn, Lewiston and Auburn's water source, through conservation, watershed management, & educational outreach. Lake Auburn provides safe drinking water to over 41,000 in the Lewiston and Auburn area. This water goes to homes, schools, businesses, municipalities, and more. While most water utilities need to be filtered and treated, Lake Auburn only needs to be treated due to the high water quality.
