They offer children a continuous, multiyear educational experience with an integrated, project based curriculum that provides the foundation to develop each individual as a cognitive, physical, social, emotional, and reflective being. The Diana Project (TDP) is a sanctioned Northwest Arkansas Master Naturalist project. TDP is a grassroots conservation and education initiative dedicated to creating awareness about Arkansas’ state butterfly, the Diana fritillary (Argynnis diana). This species is classified as threatened, underscoring the urgent need for conservation efforts that encompass not only the Diana fritillary but also all pollinators in Arkansas. Now in its third year, TDP utilizes conservation education and citizen science to promote the species' needs as an umbrella symbol for broader pollinator education. The program emphasizes key messages such as leaving leaves, using chemicals responsibly, and choosing to plant native species. TDP fosters awareness through various offerings, including presentations, workshops, and iNaturalist training.
