Virginia State Parks' mission is "to conserve the natural, scenic, historic and cultural resources of the Commonwealth and provide recreational and educational opportunities consistent with the good stewardship of these lands, waters and facilities that leaves them unimpaired for future generations."

The Department of Marine Resources' Education Center is located at its research facility in Boothbay, Maine and includes the Maine State Aquarium, Learning Lab, and Burnt Island with Education Bldg. DMR's Education Division provides experiences that inspire curiosity and connections with Maine’s coastal waters and resources. Our vision is to make the Gulf of Maine ecosystem and Department of Marine Resources research come alive for in-person and online audiences.
